Ex Machina, founded and led by Soraya Victory, unites creativity with strategy to communicate big ideas in impactful ways.

We work across platforms—social media, long-form video, and real life—to tell purposeful stories with distinctive vision.

Soraya has been producing, directing, and writing for documentaries, television programs, commercials, and live events for two decades (and of course, since 2020, for virtual events).

She has traveled on five continents to capture stories for networks and studios including ABC, A&E Television Networks, ESPN, and DreamWorks Animation, as well as for educational and cultural institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution, the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, the Statue of Liberty Museum, the New York Hall of Science, and the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh.

She has produced media and live programs for HistoryTalks, the World Science Festival, Chicago Ideas Week, and the Women in the World Summit at Lincoln Center. Her virtual event work for mission-driven organizations includes: the Biden-Harris campaign’s Get out the Vote special; the International Rescue Committee’s global event, Hope Behind the Headlines; the Open Society Foundations’ three-part program, Essential for Recovery; the Care Can’t Wait Family Meeting series; Women, Work and a Better Future with the AFL-CIO; and the launch of Northwell Health’s campaign for child and adolescent behavioral health.

Soraya’s work is currently on view in permanent exhibits at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, and the museums on Ellis Island and Liberty Island, as well as across the social media platforms of internationally recognized cultural institutions and philanthropic organizations.

She is based in New York City, and speaks French, Italian and Persian.
